Mental Health Awareness Week
HOW TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY TAHA TINANA / PHYSICAL WELLBEING:
Maintaining a stable physical well-being can be as simple as drinking a bit more water each day. The amount of water someone should be drinking each day depends on how active they are or what kind of climate they live in. A pretty general base line is (at least) 2 litres per day. There are heaps of whacky apps you can download onto your phone like Plant Nanny, where you log the amount of water you drink, as you drink it and it will go towards growing a virtual plant in the app.
We all know what it feels like to be overwhelmed by the stresses of school and personal life and it may feel like no amount of water can fix that! MMC has 3 amazing guidance counsellors and a great school nurse that students can book appointments with through Moodle. If you aren't comfortable talking to them, Lifeline’s free phone number is 0800 LIFELINE (0800 543 354) and free text number is HELP (4357). Beyondblue.org.au is a great resource with heaps of information to educate yourself on what mental illness looks like, so you can keep an eye on yourself, and your mates.
