Recently, consent has been granted to a local water bottling plant to expand its services along with the implementation of two new local water bottling plants. What this will look like for us is 600 more trucks travelling down Hewletts road per day along with on-site production of 2,400 plastic bottles per minute, which equates to 1.3 billion plastic bottles per year. We need your help to stop this from going ahead. On Sunday the 19th of May between 12 and 2 pm at Omanu Surf Club Beach we will create a mountain of 2,400 used plastic bottles to give an idea of what one minute's worth of production looks like. You can bring used bottles of your own to add to the collection.

You can also donate to the pledgeme to help fund the appeal. https://www.pledgeme.co.nz/projects/6043-love-our-wai-let-s-stop-the-plastic?fbclid=IwAR0WXpS06lfLByJip8GUJbkqbkfoGVsUZXlBbtCaq5UrBkYcPza929d3mv8
