Tomorrow, we are lucky enough to have Sophie Pascoe paying a visit to MMC! If you’re interested in having a chat and photo with her, drop by the school hall at 1.45. A year 11, 12, and 13 girl’s assembly will follow this, beginning at 2.00 and rolling into period five.

Also, the International Paralympic Committee has revealed a shortlist for the Best Female Athlete of September based on performances at the Rio Paralympic Games, and Sophie has made it on the list.

It’s easy to vote for her, just visit - - the poll is on the right hand side of the page.

Sophie has already come away with three golds and two silver medals, a world record in the 200m individual medley, a Paralympic record in the final of the women’s 100m butterfly, and is now NZ’s most successful Paralympian ever at only 23 years of age.

It would be wicked if we could all pitch in and help her win this deserved title.
